*LIAM LOVING SON OF LYN AND BELOVED BROTHER OF LYNDSEY*
Mum of tragic Liam Gill: “Stay away from the killer tracks”
THE heartbroken mum of a 13-year-old boy electrocuted last weekend at a rail depot today warned
other children: “Stay away from the killer tracks.”
Lyn Gill gave her first full first interview to the ECHO since her son Liam died at the Allerton
site on Sunday.
The mum-of-two and the teenager’s older sister Lyndsey, who the Everton fan lived with, described
their small family as ‘The Three Musketeers.’
Mrs Gill called for more activities to be created for children to stop them roaming the streets.
She said: “This tragedy could have been avoided. Let’s put a stop to moving kids on. Boredom is
a dangerous thing.
“Of course children should stay away from the railway, but there’s no place to go except the
park and the corner shops.
“Children just get moved from A to B. Youth centres need to be built so we know where our children
are at night.
“How long will this go on for?”
Liam, a pupil at St Benedict’s in Garston, wanted to become a mechanic and would take bikes apart
in the garden and come in covered in grease.
His dad died when he was aged just five, leaving him to grow up in Allerton with him mum and
sister.
Mum Lyn also hopes to soon meet the two other boys who were playing with Liam, and who suffered
minor burns, when he was killed.
Lewis Jones and Aarron Kjensberg, both 14, were taken to Alder Hey Hospital and were discharged on
Tuesday.
Mrs Gill said: “My heart goes out to them. There could have been three deaths on Sunday.
“I don’t want them to carry this through the rest of their lives. It was a tragic accident, but
it could have been prevented
“I’ve been to his shrine which is fantastic. Most of these lads wouldn’t keep their own
bedroom tidy, but they are desperate to see that shrine kept just right.
“Losing my son hasn’t really sunk in yet. I’m in shock and I’m heartbroken.”
Liam’s family have agreed to take down the shirts, scarves and other mementoes at the shrine, off
Mather Avenue, to keep as permanent reminders.
His funeral is expected to take place next week when he will be buried in his beloved Everton
football shirt.
Mourners attending the service are set to wear T-shirts bearing the teenager’s face.

♥ TIME WILL EASE THE HURT ♥
♥ by Bruce B. Wilmer ♥
♥ The sadness of the present days ♥
♥ Is locked and set in time, ♥
♥ And meaning to the future ♥
♥ Is a slow and painful climb. ♥
♥ But all the feelings that are now ♥
♥ So vivid and so real ♥
♥ Can't hold their fresh intensity ♥
♥ As time begins to heal. ♥
♥ No wound so deep will ever go ♥
♥ Entirely away; ♥
♥ Yet every hurt becomes ♥
♥ A little less from day to day. ♥
♥ Nothing can erase the painful ♥
♥ Imprints on your mind; ♥
♥ But there are softer memories ♥
♥ That time will let you find. ♥
♥ Though your heart won't let the sadness ♥
♥ Simply slide away, ♥
♥ The echoes will diminish ♥
♥ Even though the memories stay. ♥
